Refraction & Extinction Simulations

This image of a sunset was generated using a Fortran program that performs ray tracing through an atmosphere. Wavelengths from 380nm to 780nm in increments of 5nm were used to determine the color. Rayleigh scattering coefficients were used in the extinction calculation. If you look closely you will notice that the top edge of the sun is green and the lower edge is red. http://www.physics.sfasu.edu/astro/dis/rayleigh/index.html Here are example input and output files for the FORTRAN program: param.dat, tc.dat, and test.dat.
