Education and Experience

Received bachelor's degree in physics from Lamar University (Beaumont, Texas) in 1983. Completed master's degree in physics in 1990 at Stephen F. Austin State University (Nacogdoches, Texas). Area of graduate research was superconductive tunneling, primarily Josephson's junction.

Taught labs for the Physics Department from 1987-1992 and became the lab coordinator in 1990. Responsibilities as lab coordinator include ordering and maintaining an inventory of all equipment for the department, hiring and supervising lab instructors, and conducting weekly laboratory preparations. Currently serving as advisor to the local chapter of the Society of Physics Students.

Has lectured physics courses since 1995.


Interests and Hobbies

Enjoys refereeing, playing, and coaching soccer. As a National soccer referee , he officiates at the professional level for Major League Soccer (MLS) and the United States Independent Soccer League, Division 3 (USISL D3) games. Also officiates college, high school, and youth level games. Has a United States Soccer Federation (USSF) national soccer coaching license. Coached a high school team in home country of Iran and a Youth U14 team in Nacogdoches.

Enjoys playing the game of chess.
