Introduction -- Topics covered in Video

What is astronomy? What does it cover? How old is astronomy? Does it require math? What do we not cover? What is astrology? We do not study constellations.

What about structure of course---

1-- Historical Overview, historical uses of sky, models of the universe, we will look at heroes of the universe.

2-- Study of light , Primary tool is light, properties of light, how we decode light, tools of astronomy.

3-- The sun as a common star, broaden studies to cover evolution of stars, white dwarves, pulsars, etc.

4-- Come back home, detailed glimpse of our solar system, new discoveries of extrasolar planets.
