Physics 475 & 476 - Undergraduate Research Physics 575 & 576 - Graduate Research Physics 589 & 590 - Thesis Research These courses are designed to give students hands-on experience in real-world applications of physics, astronomy, electronics and engineering. Thesis LinksSpecial Problems and Thesis Research475 Special Problems1-4 hours. For undergraduate credit only. Experimental or theoretical independent study in research. Prerequisite: 12 semester hours of physics.476 Special Problems1-4 hours. For undergraduate credit only. A continuation of PHY 475. Prerequisite: PHY 475.
575 Advanced Graduate Studies1-4 semester hours. Individual instruction, and special problems not a part of thesis. May be repeated under different topics.576 Advanced Graduate Studies1-4 semester hours depending upon the topic. Same as Physics 575 but in a different topic.581 A and B. Problems in Teaching College Physics3 semester hours, 9 hours lab per week. Supervised teaching internship through individualized instruction. Graduate teaching assistants are required to take the course each of their first two semesters. Does not count toward basic requirements for the degree. Pass - Fail. Prerequisite: 18 hours of physics.589* Thesis ResearchGrade withheld until completion of thesis.590* Thesis WritingPrerequisite: PHY 589.
