Engineering 343 and Physics 343 are the same course taught by the same instructor. Engineering majors take EGR343 and physics majors take PHY343.

The major aim will be to give each student experience design and integration of basic circuits into electronic instrumentation. This course will cover numbering systems, Boolean Algebra, Karnaugh maps, the Quine-McClusky method, decoders, counters, flip-flops, and advanced digital networks. Students will also gain experience in computer programming, interfacing, and instrumentation control. For this three-hour course, there will be two hours of lecture per week and 3 hours of lab experience per week.

Review Sheets

The review sheets will be updated a day or so before each exam.

PowerPoint Lectures Online

These are some of the slides that are used in class. Viewing these is no substitute for class attendance since the details are usually given on the chalkboard.
  • Step 1: Download Microsoft's Free PowerPoint Viewer to a temporary directory (e.g. c:\Temp\).
  • Step 2: Download one of Dr. Bruton's PowerPoint Lectures to the same temporary directory.
  • Step 3: Run Microsoft's Free PowerPoint Viewer for the PC. You will find it in the temporary directory.
  • Step 4: Load one of Dr. Bruton's PowerPoint Lectures and enjoy.

Homework

Here is the homework in Word format for the PC in case you misplace your copy of the homework or would simply like another copy. I will always give you a hard copy of the the homework in class.
