Realistic 3D Design

  1. To perform the image processing below first download "IrfanView" from http://www.download.com.

  2. In TurboCAD, load "Fastenings.tcw" from the 3D Samples directory of TurboCAD. Create a high quality rendering. Capture the image using Alt-Print-Screen. Crop the task bar, status bar, and other buttons out of the image and save the image as turbocad15-0.jpg. Use a width of no more than 600 pixels for this image and the images that follow.

  3. Load "Night House.tcw" from the 3D Samples directory of TurboCAD. Create a high quality rendering of this house. Capture the image using Alt-Print-Screen, crop the image, and save the image as turbocad15-1.jpg. Move your camera location to the porch or inside of the house and create another high quality image and save it as turbocad15-2.jpg. (See the example below for camera positioning.)

  4. Repeat the exercise above for "Architectural.tcw" and save the images a turbocad15-3.jpg and turbocad15-4.jpg.

  5. Load SceneH.tcw from the 3D Samples directory of TurboCAD. Locate the office chair in "Two storey house with viewport.tcw" and copy it to a location on the floor in SceneH.tcw. Change the size and location of the chair to make it appear reallistic.

  6. Now also put the Rubix Cube from rubix.tcw and/or a cassette from cassette.tcw on the shelf in SceneH.tcw. You can slightly oversize the Rubix Cube and/or cassette to make them more visible.

  7. Create a simple desk with 4 legs for the office chair in SceneH. Add texture to the desk. Add a lamp (custom or otherwise) to the top of your desk.

  8. Save the modified SceneH.tcw TurboCAD file as turbocad15.tcw. Capture a screen shot of the high quality rendering of your SceneH and save it as turbocad15-5.jpg. Create an HTML file named turbocad15.html that displays the 6 images above as well as has a hyperlink to turbocad15.tcw.

  9. Upload the following files to the server:
    • turbocad15-0.jpg
    • turbocad15-1.jpg
    • turbocad15-2.jpg
    • turbocad15-3.jpg
    • turbocad15-4.jpg
    • turbocad15-5.jpg
    • turbocad15.tcw
    • turbocad15.html
