Chapter 17 - Accounting

• What is meant by “system”? See figure 17.3. Review rules 1 through 4.
• What are extensive and intensive quantities?
• What is meant by open systems and closed systems?
• What is meant by “steady state system”?
• Review volume expansion problems.
• Memorize equations 17-6, 7, 8, and 9.

Chapter 18 - Accounting for Mass

• Know the universal accounting equation for mass.
• Review fission and fusion concepts.
• Review percent concentration, mixing, and distillation problems.
• How do you balance chemical reactions?
• Review example problems 18.1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.

Chapter 20 - Accounting for Linear Momentum

• Know the definition of linear momentum and equation 20-1.
• What is meant by “Conservations of Momentum”?
• When is momentum conserved?
• What is meant by impulse?
• Review collisions, explosions, impacts, and rocket problems.
• Review example problems 20.1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
